Paste your friends transparent ed image into a new transparent layer above the background position it where you want it to be with then merge that layer down onto the background. If you cutpaste a transparent png into affinity the transparency is lost and the background becomes black. When i open other files with transparent backgrounds ive done in the past those open just fine but when its copied and pasted from online the background is turned black. The problem is that transparency is not recognized during the copypaste command and so the transparent areas default to black. Copypaste will work yes but extract is an actual feature of adobe acrobat that will pull images at their set resolution.

When copying and pasting transparent gif or png images from the internet into photoshop the transparent areas of the image may be converted into black. This is not an issue with the copying. But when i paste it into pp it always looks like this see pic2 below. This has been bugging me for some time. Usually i want a picture with no background such as this see pic1 below.
I constantly have to edit images taken from our website so being able to copy an image quickly with transparency intact is very important. I can paste the same transparent png from my clipboard into say jasc paintshop pro or other image editing apps and it retains its transparency. These images are one i created and exported using save for web. So i will normally right click on the image and select copy image im using google chrome. It worked fine in cs5 so it must be a bug.
Copypaste and extract are two different things. If i open this file in windows 10 photos and right click to copy when i paste it into a new gmail message the file appears with a black background.
