Gimp pastes transparent image with a black background. These images are one i created and exported using save for web. Copy the transparent image paste into ms word. Then copy it or dragdrop from word and paste it to the other target program. The background of the image before pasting on the original site is white or maybe transparent. I am experiencing an issue with all transparent png files copied from chrome and pasted into photoshop cs6.
The transparency was there as expected but anchoring is the act of fixing the pasted. Does anyone know of a fix or work. It worked fine in cs5 so it must be a bug. The background is black rather than transparent. Maybe your image is saving correctly but how your are viewing is supplying a black background which would be viewable through the alpha layer.
My workaround was to save the image then load it into gimp as you mentioned. I have a black arrow png iconimage with transparent background which im trying to paint another color which i sample from another image. The image i am pasting is just a white face outlined in black. This works for me actually the only i see of it not working is if one does edit paste on gimp it them creates a floating selection which is a temporary layer which exists mostly to allow positioning of the pasted contents and them anchor the floating layer on a opaque background layer. Check this tutorial to create transparent images by removing their background in gimp editor.
I can copy an image paste into gimp and it will be given a black background in place of the transparent background.
